Greetings from Blarney Castle

Eloquence is now Sam and my middle names. After taking the self guided tour through Blarney Castle, we found ourselves at the top laying down to kiss the stone. This was somewhat amusing as some elderly, who were having troubles just getting to the stone, were trying to lay on their backs and slide down to kiss the stone. But I guess why hike to the top of the castle if you don't do the one thing you hiked up there to do! The grounds in front of the castle are beautiful, yet have an erie feeling to them. I now have a much greater understanding why and how fairy-tales were written and told. Sam walked the wishing steps both up and down, backwards, with her eyes closed, the tale says if you do this while thinking about your wish the whole time, that the wish will come true within a year. I guess we'll see!

I'm enjoying Cork much more than Dublin. There is allot more room everywhere you go, and the people are much more friendly too. It,s a very modern city but has managed to hold on to the old city feel. The central shopping area of town has large streets with allot of activity. In the middle of the street there are reflectors that have lights in them that change colors along with poles on the sides, approx waist high that have multiple lights that change colors too. It's very cool! We ate Mexican food last night and who knows what we will fall across tonight. This morn we went to English Market to browse the shops and grab breakfast. Sam has gotten into the habit of comparing everything she sees to what she has seen in the US. The English Market was the Seattle Fish Market and Blarney Castle was Enchanted Forest! We are working on breaking the habit! =) Sam is going to try and post some pics later tonight, till then stay classy!

I hope you don't care about bacterial counts because I've heard the Blarney stone has more bacteria per square inch(or cm there) than any other object on the globe. Hope you had fun kissing it!!!! Did it taste like a thousand different countries of saliva?

Keep having fun, remember when you get tired, keep Christ the focus and your travels will be easier.

My question is, "Did you, Dusty, walk up and down, backwards with your eyes closed?" And if you did, what was your wish? Hmmmmm
I've always thought of you both as eloquent, what's new? I've been praising God for all the adventures He's sending you on...way to be available. Are you getting enough sleep...are you warm enough at night...is the beer warm...are you still speaking to each other...? hahaha Love ya, Mom Ross

Well I can tell you what my wish would be walking this way and that up the steps.....S _ _ _ _ H. Can you fill those gaps?! You better tell me what you wished for by the way. Jordan wants to wish you happy travels and is soooooo jealous that you got to sleep in a castle tambien. She would also like a small bottle of scotch I think.

Samantha, I heard you're supposed to LICK the blarney stone, not kiss it. You better go back and do that asap or else nothing will happen.

Hi kids! We are enjoying your tales so keep them coming. Sammi, how did you walk backward without falling. I would think the steps were very uneven. I hope you took a picture of the lights on the street...it sounds really neat. Did you find a church to attend Sunday? Pastor Justin gave a great sermon this morning. Well, off to your next adventure! Papa & Gram
